Harley E. Wells Harley E. Wells passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at the Fresno Community Regional Medical Center, after a short illness. He was born on January 22, 1931 in Vinita, Oklahoma. His family moved to Selma, California in 1941. Harley attended Selma High School, where he enjoyed participating in football, baseball and swimming. He graduated in the class of 1949 and proudly served in the military as a Marine during the Korean Conflict. Harley worked for his brother, Allen, for 23 years at the Exon Station on McCall Ave. as a "Tire Man". In 1976, he and Allen purchased a farm where they grew grapes and peaches. They sold the farm in 2005 and Harley retired. He enjoyed his garden and walking 5 miles or more each day. He is preceded in death by his brother, Calvin Wells, and his parents Clifford and Bessie Wells. Harley is survived by his siblings, Mina Wright of Selma, Milton Wells and his wife Susan of Reedley, Allen Wells and his wife, Gloria of Selma, Sylvia Hunt of Coalinga and Sharon Gabel and her husband Melvin of Branson, Mo. as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Page Funeral Chapel, Selma, California. A Funeral Service will be held today, Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Page Funeral Chapel; Internment will directly follow to the Floral Memorial Park Cemetery, Selma, California. |
Larry D. Goodnight MUNCIE - Larry D. Goodnight, 63, of Muncie passed away November 7, 2011 at Parkview Nursing Center. He was born March 10, 1948 in Muncie to James E. and Opal (Woolman) Goodnight. Larry was a graduate of Muncie Southside High School. Larry grew up and learned to be a mechanic working with his father in the Goodnight Implement Company. Larry has been a dedicated member and worker with Narcotics Anonymous. Survivors include his loving mother, Opal Goodnight; brother, Clarence (Sonny) Goodnight (wife, Carmen), Miami, Florida, Juanita Norem (husband, Garry), Ft. Wayne, Sharon Sylvester, Chicago, Illinois, Ruth Maya, Houston, Texas, several nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his father, James E. Goodnight and sister, Dorothy Blatt. A memorial service for family and friends will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 19, 2011 at The Serenity Club, 1218 South Brotherton, Muncie, Indiana with Pastor Nancy Hunt officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be given to the Cancer Services of East Central Indiana, Inc., Little Red Door, 401 West Jackson Street, Muncie, Indiana 47305-1516 or a charity of your choice. Parson Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. |
